AEK Athens prepares for OFI match amid injury updates

AEK Athens is preparing for their upcoming Super League 1 match against OFI Crete amidst roster changes. Head coach Marko Nikolic must manage the absence of attacker Barnabas Varga, who is sidelined with a muscle tear. Varga is expected to miss the match against OFI as well as the Champions League fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk, though he is working to recover in time for the match against Manchester City on October 20.

To address Varga's absence, Nikolic is considering a 4-4-2 formation, potentially utilizing Zini as an attacking partner. On a positive note, defender Lazaros Rota has returned to full training after overcoming injury issues during the international break and is expected to be available for the match against OFI.

Georgios Kokkinos has been appointed as the referee for the AEK vs. OFI fixture.
