AEK Athens pursues Bilal Nadir signing and seeks seeded spot in Champions League playoffs

Greek club AEK Athens is reported to be close to signing 22‑year‑old Moroccan midfielder Bilal Nadir, who became a free agent after leaving Olympique de Marseille. The Africafoot report says AEK has an advantage over rivals such as Hetafe, while Panathinaikos has also shown interest.

In the European competition arena, data from Football Meets Data gives AEK a 35 % probability of landing a seeded position in the Champions League playoff draw scheduled for 3 August, depending on the outcome of other ties.

Separately, AEK has completed a loan move for 27‑year‑old Croatian midfielder Robert Liubič to Austrian club LASK, with the loan including an option to purchase in the summer of 2027 for about €3.5 million. Liubič made 68 appearances for AEK, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists.
