AEK B.C. signs 18‑year‑old guard Vasilis Chartonas to five‑year deal

AEK announced the acquisition of 18‑year‑old point guard Vasilis Chartonas, signing him to a five‑year contract that runs until the summer of 2031.

Chartonas joins from DEKA after a successful youth career, including the Greek U‑18 championship (2024‑25), back‑to‑back EKASTH titles (2024‑25, 2025‑26), MVP honors and selection to the best five in multiple age groups, a fourth‑place finish at the European U‑16 championship, and a bronze medal at the national U‑17 tournament. He also helped DEKA win the World School Championship in Macau, China, in 2024.

In a brief interview, Chartonas expressed excitement about playing for AEK and praised head coach Dragan Sakota, saying it is an honor to be coached by him and that he looks forward to the challenges ahead.
