AEK BC signs Vasilis Ioannou to professional contract

AEK BC has announced that 18-year-old guard Vasilis Ioannou has signed his first professional contract with the club. The agreement is a 3+1 year deal, securing his tenure with the team until the summer of 2030.

Ioannou, a product of the AEK BC Academy and captain of the ESKA Champion youth team, is scheduled to be loaned to AS Papagou for the 2026-2027 season to gain professional experience and playing time. Standing at 1.91m, Ioannou previously made history as one of the youngest players to appear in the professional league during a match against Marousi in March 2025.
