AEK contests two-point handball penalty from Federation
AEK has issued a formal response to the Hellenic Handball Federation (OXE) contesting a decision to deduct two points from its men's handball team for the 2026-2027 Handball Premier season. The penalty was reportedly issued due to a delay in paying a fine.
In its letter, AEK argues that the Federation's decision lacks legal and substantive validity. The club claims the document is unenforceable, citing violations of law, fundamental legal principles, and the Federation's own disciplinary regulations. AEK further stated that the payment in question is scheduled to be completed within September 2026, a deadline that has not yet passed. The club has reserved its right to take further legal action regardless of the payment status.
