AEL and Karmiotissa advance in Coca Cola Cup

AEL and Karmiotissa have secured their places in the next stage of the Coca Cola Cup following victories in the second phase of the competition.

AEL defeated Iraklis Gerolakkou 2-1. Paroutis opened the scoring for AEL in the 13th minute, but Iraklis Gerolakkou equalized through Papapanagiotou in the 22nd minute. An own goal by Patetsa in the 29th minute restored AEL's lead. Despite several missed opportunities in the second half, AEL controlled the tempo to maintain the win.

Karmiotissa progressed with a 2-0 victory over Ermis Aradippou. The match shifted in the 15th minute when Ermis Aradippou player Uland received a red card, leaving his team with ten players. Julio Cesar scored a header in the 24th minute to give Karmiotissa the lead. The second goal arrived in the 58th minute via an own goal by Genethliou, sealing the qualification for the Limassol-based side.
