AEL football club's shares offered free by Davelis family to qualified investors
On 27 May 2026 the Davelis family, owners of Greek Super League 2 club AEL, announced they will relinquish their entire shareholding free of charge. The offer is limited to parties that can provide solid guarantees for the club’s current and future financial obligations.
The deadline for proposals has been extended to 28 June, and the municipality of Larissa, represented by its mayor, will act as overseer to receive submissions. The family said the move is intended to protect the club after earlier attempts to sell the shares attracted no interest, and stressed that profit‑seeking investors are not wanted.
