AEL Limassol president to file police complaint over VAR interference

Konstantinos Konstantinou, president of the football club AEL Limassol, has announced intentions to file a formal police complaint regarding the Kafou incident. The club is investigating two primary concerns: the issuance of a red card and, more significantly, alleged external interference with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.

Konstantinou stated that protocol strictly prohibits communication from production to the VAR, and the club has received information suggesting such interference occurred. Following a complaint to the Federation, the club is seeking confirmation that all audiovisual VAR materials have been secured for evaluation. Konstantinou, accompanied by another company official, intends to provide testimony to the police to ensure a proper investigation into the motives and identity of those involved.
