Aena Group reported a 4.7% increase in passenger traffic across its network of 46 Spanish airports, two helipads, London-Luton, Leeds Bradford, and 17 Brazilian airports, totaling 41,381,404 passengers in August 2026. Aircraft movements rose by 4.5% to 330,526, though cargo transport saw a 5.7% decline to 116,723 tons during the same month.
In Spain, the Aena network recorded 225,543,599 passengers from January to August 2026, representing a 4.1% increase compared to 2025. Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas was the busiest airport in August with 39,606 movements, while Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat followed with 34,772 flights. Other notable growth in Spain was seen in Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, which saw an 11.7% increase in movements.
