Aena launches €550 million overhaul of Tenerife South Airport

Aena announced a public tender for the comprehensive redevelopment of Tenerife South Airport, with total contract value exceeding €550 million. The project will enlarge general‑purpose and rental‑car parking, integrate the terminal with the planned Tren del Sur, upgrade baggage handling and refurbish interior and exterior spaces to improve passenger experience and meet future demand.

Separately, the Cabildo of Tenerife approved an extension of funding and the schedule for the Costa de Rojas seafront promenade works in El Sauzal. The budget was raised to more than €602,000 and the completion date moved to 2 August 2028. The upgrade aims to restore the coastal walkway, improve safety and accessibility, and better connect it with nearby bathing areas, supporting local residents and visitors alike.
