Aena tenders €41.6 million renovation for Valencia Airport
Aena has launched a tender worth approximately €41.66 million for a series of infrastructure improvements at Valencia Airport. The project includes the comprehensive renovation of runway 12-30, the upgrading of several taxiways, and improvements to the perimeter road.
Key technical works involve renewing runway pavement and margins, correcting slopes, leveling, and modernizing visual aid systems by replacing existing lighting with LED technology. The contract also covers the adequacy of drainage networks and the reinforcement of electrical installations associated with runway lighting.
The works are scheduled to take place over a 27-month period between May 2027 and July 2029. To accommodate the scale of the construction, Aena will implement nightly closures from 22:00 to 06:00. The company stated it will coordinate closely with airlines and service providers to ensure they receive sufficient notice to reorganize operations or utilize alternative airports.
