Aeolian Islands tourism grows despite economic crisis
Tourism in the Aeolian Islands has seen significant growth despite the general economic crisis. Data compiled by Brand Eolie indicates that as of August 31, visitor numbers increased by 7% during the high season, 15% during the mid-season, and 12% during the low season.
Overall seasonal forecasts predict a total increase of between 13% and 16%. Higher numbers are also expected for September and October compared to the same period in 2025.
Brand Eolie, which holds the EUIPO trademark, has implemented a territorial valorization model to combat geographic isolation and depopulation in the archipelago. Through various press tours and media engagements, the organization reports reaching 80 million certified contacts via national, international, and regional media outlets.
