Aeon Big launches flagship discount store in Yokohama

Aeon Big opened its new “The Big Konan‑dai” discount store in Yokohama’s Konan‑dai district on 9 July. The mid‑size outlet, part of the company’s 129‑store network that spans from Miyagi to Nara, is presented as the culmination of Aeon Big’s low‑price strategy.

The store features an outlet corner where dedicated buyers source limited‑quantity items at “break‑even” prices, including an ultra‑low‑priced 7‑yen product on opening day. A private‑brand range of 25 brands and more than 530 SKUs covers food, daily necessities and household goods. Fresh vegetables, bakery products, meat (e.g., 970‑yen wagyu steak) and other prepared foods are offered at price points aimed at delivering “affordability and ease of shopping.”

President Hiroshi Miura said the store showcases Aeon Big’s goal to become the region’s most trusted discount retailer while ensuring quality and freshness despite low prices. The company reported fiscal‑year‑2025 sales of ¥2950 billion and continues expanding its discount‑store formats across Japan.
