Aeroflot resumes Moscow-Abu Dhabi flights via Iran

Russian airline Aeroflot has resumed scheduled flights between Moscow and Abu Dhabi, utilizing Iranian airspace. The first flight following a seven-month hiatus was operated using a Boeing 737-800.

This resumption follows previous steps by Russian carriers to restore Middle Eastern connections. Aeroflot previously resumed flights from Moscow and Krasnodar to Dubai earlier this year. Another Russian carrier, Pobeda, has also resumed services to Dubai from Moscow and Makhachkala, with plans to expand routes to Abu Dhabi and other cities including Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, and Vladikavkaz later this year.

While flights to Abu Dhabi have restarted, Aeroflot has not yet resumed its Moscow-Tehran route. The airline's CEO indicated that the resumption of flights to both Tehran and Abu Dhabi was being evaluated, noting that travel restrictions and seasonal demand might delay full service until late autumn.
