Aerolíneas Argentinas announces capacity growth and China Eastern partnership

Aerolíneas Argentinas has announced significant expansions to its operations, including new summer 2027 programming and an enhanced codeshare agreement with China Eastern Airlines.

At the Latin American International Tourism Fair, the airline revealed its 2027 summer strategy, projecting 1,508,834 seats for January 2027—a 13% increase over 2026. The expansion includes a 13% rise in domestic capacity and a 16% increase in regional operations. New international routes include Curacao and Cartagena de Indias, while the Córdoba-Cabo Frío route will launch in late December.

Additionally, Aerolíneas Argentinas and China Eastern Airlines are expanding their codeshare agreement effective October 1. This partnership will allow China Eastern to market domestic and regional flights operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas, including destinations such as El Calafate, Córdoba, Mendoza, and Ushuaia. The agreement also covers international connections to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Santiago de Chile, aiming to facilitate passenger movement between South America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
