Aerolíneas Argentinas flight returns to Ezeiza after engine failure

An Aerolíneas Argentinas Airbus A330-202, en flight AR1132 bound for Madrid, was forced to return to Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires following a technical issue with one of its engines. Passengers reported hearing loud noises described as explosions during the flight.

The aircraft remained airborne for approximately 36 minutes after takeoff before landing safely at 00:28. While emergency services and firefighters were stationed on the runway as a precaution, the airline stated the aircraft landed without incident and moved to its position under its own power without requiring an emergency code.

Local residents in the Ezeiza and Luis Guillón areas reported hearing loud bangs and experiencing vibrations in their windows. Following the landing, the airline rescheduled the flight using a different Airbus A330-243, which departed for Spain at approximately 04:30.
