El Calafate airport to host 204 flights in September

The Comandante Armando Tola International Airport in El Calafate is scheduled to operate 204 commercial flights in September. While this represents an 8.9% decrease compared to the 224 operations recorded in September 2025, the month introduces key connectivity improvements for the Patagonian tourism season.

Aerolíneas Argentinas will resume a direct route between El Calafate and San Carlos de Bariloche starting September 4, with three weekly frequencies on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays. This connection aims to link two major regional destinations without requiring a layover in Buenos Aires. Additionally, Aerolíneas Argentinas has 189 flights planned for the month, including 55 operations to Ushuaia.

JetSMART is also set to begin operations in El Calafate during the second half of September, an earlier arrival than its originally planned October start. The airline's entry follows an agreement involving the local municipality and the Tourism Promotion Joint Entity.
