Aeroméxico accounts for nearly half of Mexico's airline consumer complaints
According to Mexico's consumer protection agency Profeco, Aeroméxico received 1,844 complaints between January and August 2026, representing about 47 % of the 3,921 complaints filed nationwide against airlines. Passengers cited delays, cancellations, itinerary changes, baggage loss or damage, denied refunds, unrecognized charges and other service problems.
Aeroméxico reported a 220‑million‑peso (≈US$12.6 million) loss for April‑June, 30 million pesos worse than its own forecast, mainly due to higher fuel costs. The carrier warned that continued fuel‑price volatility could force it to cut capacity during the winter high‑season, but it will protect its slots at Mexico City International Airport (AICM).
