Aeroméxico delays Caracas service to early 2027
Aeroméxico has postponed the resumption of direct flights between Mexico City and Caracas, originally planned for October 2024. The airline's CEO, Andrés Conesa, stated that the delay is a preventive measure following recent seismic activity that affected the infrastructure at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía.
The airline now expects to formally begin commercial operations during the first quarter of 2027. Aeroméxico plans to utilize Boeing 737 MAX aircraft for this route to facilitate passenger transport and commercial exchange between Mexico and Venezuela after a decade-long absence from the Venezuelan market.
