Aeroméxico passenger denied boarding with Great Dane service dog

Matias Rodriguez, a diabetic passenger, was denied boarding on an Aeroméxico flight from Vancouver to Chile because the airline claimed there was insufficient space for his service dog, Logan, a Great Dane.

Rodriguez, who relies on the dog to alert him to dangerous blood sugar levels and potential medical emergencies, had successfully flown with Logan on the airline previously. After being turned away at the gate, Rodriguez attempted to fly on a rescheduled flight the following day, but was again denied boarding due to the same lack of space.

According to reports, the airline suggested Rodriguez purchase a $3,000 business class ticket as an alternative, though it was not guaranteed that the service animal would be permitted to board even with the upgrade. The passenger and his associates have expressed frustration over the airline's refusal to accommodate the trained service animal.
