The Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) completed an urgent medical transport mission during the night, transferring a 70-year-old patient from Sicily to Lombardy.

The patient, who was hospitalized at the Cervello Hospital in Palermo, was moved to the San Matteo Hospital in Pavia to receive specialized care. The mission utilized a Gulfstream G-650 aircraft from the 31st Wing, which departed from Ciampino to pick up the patient in Palermo.

The flight departed Palermo at 23:00 and landed at Milan Linate Airport at approximately 00:15. An accompanying nurse provided medical assistance during the flight. Following the landing, the patient was transferred by ground ambulance to the destination hospital in Pavia.

The operation was requested by the Prefecture of Palermo and authorized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. After completing the mission, the aircraft and crew returned to Ciampino to resume operational readiness.
