Aerospace education initiatives expand in Taiwan and China

Aerospace education initiatives are expanding across Asia to address the growing demand for specialized technical talent in the commercial space sector.

In Taiwan, the Taiwan Aerospace Association and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University partnered with the New Taipei City Government to host a workshop for high school and junior high teachers. The program focuses on hands-on engineering, guiding educators through the complete process of rocket design, manufacturing, and launching to integrate aerospace technology into school STEAM curricula.

In China, the talent competition is moving into higher education. Beijing Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics has launched a specialized micro-program in “reusable liquid propulsion” in collaboration with Tianbing Technology. Aimed at sophomore and junior undergraduate students, the 1.5-year program provides direct access to industry expertise, including engine component assembly and rocket ground testing, to prepare a workforce capable of handling the complexities of reusable rocket technology.
