AeroVironment expands unmanned systems through new partnerships
AeroVironment has entered into several strategic partnerships to enhance its unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) capabilities. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Alpha Unmanned Systems S.L. to support the JUMP 20 fixed-wing UAS, which features vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities. This collaboration focuses on providing training, maintenance, and sustainment for JUMP 20 customers, with an initial emphasis on Spain and potential future expansion into other European and Latin American markets.
Additionally, AeroVironment is working with Australian firm Elsight to upgrade its Mayhem 10 autonomous military drone system. The partnership involves integrating Elsight’s Halo technology to improve communication resilience. Halo uses network bonding to combine satellite, cellular, and radio links into a single connection, allowing the platform to automatically adjust to network availability. This integration is designed to maintain control in environments where terrain, damaged infrastructure, or electronic warfare might otherwise disrupt communications.
