AeroVironment faces lawsuits despite record quarterly revenue

AeroVironment is experiencing a sharp divergence between strong operational performance and declining stock value. Despite reporting record quarterly revenue of $641.62 million—a 133.3 percent increase year-over-year—the company's share price has dropped approximately 40 percent over the past year.

The stock decline follows several setbacks, including the loss of a $1.4 billion US Space Force contract and an $89 million goodwill accounting error. Multiple law firms have reportedly announced intentions to file class-action lawsuits regarding these disclosures.

Operationally, the defense technology firm continues to secure significant contracts, including a $51 million US Army order for Switchblade-600 loitering munitions and a $46.6 million agreement with the Italian Ministry of Defence for JUMP-20-VTOL aircraft. Additionally, the company has partnered with Athens-based Eyeonix SA to form 'AV Eagle' for unmanned aircraft manufacturing in Greece. AeroVironment is also planning a $100 million corporate campus in Moorpark, California, to consolidate its Southern California operations by 2029.
