AES Confederation prepares for ECOWAS negotiations and health sovereignty
Experts from Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso are coordinating their positions ahead of formal negotiations between the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). A preparatory meeting held in Ouagadougou aimed to establish a unified strategy, identify negotiating limits, and define a common method to ensure a relationship respectful of the interests of their populations.
In a separate effort to strengthen regional cooperation, health experts from the three AES member states are meeting in Bamako to finalize strategic documents focused on health sovereignty. These efforts include harmonizing pharmaceutical regulations, coordinating procurement, and promoting local production to better address the healthcare needs of the confederation's populations.
