AESAF condemns Getafe manager José Bordalás over referee criticisms

The Spanish Association of Football Referees (AESAF) has issued a formal statement condemning Getafe manager José Bordalás following his criticisms after a 3-0 defeat against Alavés. Bordalás questioned the officiating criteria of Manuel Orellana, specifically labeling the red card shown to Kiko Femenía as ‘unjust’ and claiming his team is not treated equally.

In response, AESAF accused the coach of ‘overacting’ and using disrespectful language, noting that he called the debutant referee ‘Cagón’ during the match. The association defended the officiating decisions and called for respect to avoid a tense atmosphere in LaLiga. While the accusations have not yet resulted in a formal sanction, the coach has been strongly warned. Bordalás is expected to be available for Getafe’s upcoming match against Racing.
