Spain issues multiple food safety alerts for mussels, egg whites, and sauce

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has issued several alerts regarding contaminated or hazardous food products distributed in various regions.

A batch of Marvalmar brand cooked mussels (Lot 387/21096 1809, best before 20/11/2026) has been flagged for Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The affected 200g vacuum-packed trays were distributed in Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, and the Community of Madrid.

Additionally, Casa de Castrelo brand pasteurized egg whites (Lot 6265, expiring 27/10/2026) have been recalled due to the presence of Salmonella. While initially distributed in Andalusia, authorities warn the product may have reached other autonomous communities.

Finally, an alert was issued for Eroski brand Ricotta Sauce (Lot LA310CRI01, expiring 06/11/2028) due to the potential presence of glass fragments. This product was reported by health authorities in Navarra. In all cases, consumers are advised to refrain from consuming the products and to seek medical attention if symptoms arise.
