AETHER REALM announces new album ‘Season of Bloodshed’

North Carolina melodic death metal band AETHER REALM has announced their fourth studio album, titled ‘Season of Bloodshed’. The record is scheduled for release on December 11, 2026, via Napalm Records.

The band noted that the album's themes of rage and transformation were shaped by several significant challenges faced since their 2020 release, including a global pandemic, the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, and a lineup change during the recording process. Longtime guitarist Donny Burbage departed the group, with Chris Jones joining the lineup alongside guitarist Heinrich Arnold.

The eight-track album features orchestral elements from Martin Gonzalez. Early tracks include ‘The Blood Is Calling’, which utilizes vampiric themes and string arrangements, and ‘Control’, which features harmonized guitar work between Arnold and Jones. The band described the music as an expression of festering frustration intended to find peace through aggressive musicality.
