Aethus survival game announced for Nintendo Switch 2

Pawsmonaut Games and Making Port have announced that the survival game Aethus is scheduled to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 in early 2027. The title marks the debut project for developer Alex Kane, a former professional at studios including Rockstar North.

Aethus focuses on underground exploration, resource collection, crafting, and base building. Players control Maeve, a mining engineer, using tools such as lasers, drills, and explosives to extract minerals. The gameplay features an AI drone companion and allows players to adjust difficulty through modifiers, ranging from relaxed exploration to intense survival challenges.

Making Port is handling the console adaptation to ensure the game is optimized for controllers, including interface adjustments and visual improvements. While the game has been available on PC via Steam since March 2026, the upcoming console version aims to provide a seamless experience for the next-generation Nintendo hardware.
