AEW Continental Challenge Cup: Moxley and McGuinness reach semifinals

Jon Moxley and Nigel McGuinness have advanced to the semifinals of the AEW Continental Challenge Cup following the quarterfinal matches held on the August 19 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Jon Moxley, the reigning AEW Continental Champion, secured a submission victory over Jay White using a rear naked choke. The match was highly competitive, with White nearly capitalizing on a Blade Runner attempt before Moxley regained control.

Nigel McGuinness advanced despite competing with an ankle injury sustained in a previous round. McGuinness defeated Hechicero by forcing him to pass out in a guillotine choke. McGuinness is also scheduled to compete for the ROH Pure Championship at Death Before Dishonor.

The remaining quarterfinals will feature Claudio Castagnoli against Eddie Kingston and Orange Cassidy against Kyle O'Reilly. The winners of those matches will join Moxley and McGuinness in the semifinals, which are scheduled to take place in Glasgow, Scotland. The tournament is set to culminate at AEW All In in London.
