AEW Champion Thekla spits on Stardom logo ahead of Forbidden Door showdown

AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla delivered a heated promo on the June 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, flanked by Skye Blue and Julia Hart. She spat on the Stardom logo displayed on the arena screen and declared she was bringing “death to Stardom,” warning that the upcoming Forbidden Door pay‑per‑view on June 28 in San Jose, California would be the final showdown between the two promotions.

Stardom president Taro Okada responded on social media, calling Thekla’s act “vulgar, cowardly and shameful.” Other Stardom talent, including Mina Shirakawa and Yuna Mizumori, also condemned the stunt, while the feud recalls Thekla’s 2025 storyline firing from the Japanese promotion after an assault on Okada. The incident has heightened anticipation for the joint AEW‑NJPW‑Stardom event.
