Kenny Omega to defend AEW World Title against Kevin Knight at Redemption

AEW announced that new World Champion Kenny Omega will make his first defense at the Redemption pay‑per‑view on July 26, 2026 in Montreal, Canada. Omega’s challenger is TNT Champion Kevin Knight, who earned the shot after a promise from MJF and a confrontation on the July 15 episode of Dynamie. Knight warned he wants to become “Jet 2 Belts” and demanded the match be honored.

The Redemption card also features several other title bouts: International Champion Kyle Fletcher will face ROH World Champion Bandido, TBS Champion Hikaru Shida will defend against Queen Aminata, and the Women’s World Champion Thekla will meet Willow Nightingale. Additional matches include Mark Davis vs. Andrade El Ídolo for the National Championship and a grudge match between Chris Jericho and Tommaso Ciampa.

These announcements follow Omega’s recent victory over MJF at the Beach Break special, where the classic AEW World Championship belt was presented to him.
