AEW granted extension to serve Ryan Nemeth amid legal dispute

A judge has granted All Elite Wrestling (AEW) an extension to serve legal papers to Ryan Nemeth, following allegations from the promotion that Nemeth is evading the legal process. The new deadline to serve Nemeth has been set for December 2, 2026.

The court issued a warning that if Nemeth and his counsel are monitoring the docket and fail to return a requested waiver without good cause, they may be held responsible for the expenses incurred during the service process, including attorney’s fees.

The ongoing legal battle stems from a lawsuit Nemeth filed against AEW, Tony Khan, and CM Punk, alleging assault, professional misconduct, and being blacklisted from the industry. AEW has responded with a countersuit and has sought to move the dispute to private arbitration in Florida. A central point of contention has been the location of this arbitration, with Nemeth attempting to move proceedings to California while AEW argues that, as an independent contractor, California labor law does not apply.
