AEW reportedly lost $30 million on Fight Forever video game

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) reportedly incurred a financial loss of at least $30 million due to the development and commercial performance of its first major console title, ‘AEW Fight Forever’.

According to reports from Insider Gaming’s Mike Straw, the loss was driven by significant production delays and missed deadlines. Originally slated for a 2022 release, the game did not launch until June 2023. These delays increased development costs, while sales figures reportedly reached only about half of the company’s initial expectations.

AEW no longer has an active development agreement with Yuke’s, the studio behind the game. However, the promotion retains ownership of the game engine used for the title, which could allow for lower-cost future projects with different developers. While AEW remains interested in video games long-term, there are currently no imminent plans for a sequel or new console project.
