AFAD leads rescue operations for dog in Yalova and missing person in Konya, Turkey

On July 5, 2026, the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) coordinated a rescue in Yalova's Çınarcık district after a three‑day call from a forested area indicated a sound. Search teams, including Doğa Koruma and Esenköy Search and Rescue, located a dog trapped in an old water well, extracted it on a stretcher and transferred the animal to the Çınarcık Municipality Veterinary Department for care.

In Konya's Seydişehir district, a missing‑person search began on July 2 when Firdevs Üner disappeared while her husband tended livestock. AFAD, together with gendarmerie, fire services and municipal crews, launched a wide‑area operation, encircling the rugged, rocky terrain. The search continues as authorities work to locate her.
