AFAD rescue teams undergo water training at Munzur River

Search and rescue teams coordinated by AFAD are undergoing intensive water-based training programs at the Munzur River in Tunceli to enhance their capabilities for flood and flood-related disasters. The training includes theoretical and practical lessons on river crossing techniques, navigating obstacles in water, swimming against currents, rope throwing methods, and boat operations.

According to Tunceli AFAD Director Erdal Tunçtan, 50 personnel from 12 different provinces are participating in these exercises. The curriculum covers specialized skills such as setting up aerial lines, performing rescues using rafting boats, and responding to scenarios where a boat might capsize. The training concludes with drills designed to test the teams' ability to rescue citizens in drowning situations and improve overall intervention capacity.
