AFAD trains TPIC staff on KBRN hazards in Şırnak
Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) conducted a comprehensive chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (KBRN) and general disaster‑awareness training for personnel of Turkey Petroleum International Company (TPIC) working in the Şırnak region. The program addressed natural threats such as earthquakes, floods and landslides as well as human‑made and technological risks, outlining safety procedures, proper response actions and essential behaviours during emergencies.
AFAD officials emphasized that improving the safety awareness of energy‑sector workers supports both employee protection and public safety. The agency said it will continue to provide similar training to staff of strategic industries and public institutions to strengthen overall disaster‑preparedness capacity.
