AFAGA launches new dementia support and awareness initiatives

The Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients and other dementias of Galicia (AFAGA) has launched several initiatives to improve the quality of life and social inclusion for those affected by cognitive decline.

AFAGA has entered into a collaborative agreement with the TokApp Impulsa Foundation to develop socio-educational projects. This partnership aims to raise awareness among children and young people regarding Alzheimer's, promote active and healthy aging, and combat ageism through intergenerational activities and community training.

Additionally, AFAGA has introduced the ‘Vida 6.0, escribiendo mi historia’ project, supported by BBVA Asset Management and the University of Santiago de Compostela. This initiative focuses on creating personalized physical and digital life books for patients. These books document the individual's history, values, and preferences to promote cognitive stimulation and facilitate shared decision-making regarding future care through a person-centered approach.
