AfD faces mockery over voting instruction tutorial

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has faced public mockery following a social media post by its Celle district association providing basic instructions on how to vote. The post, which advised supporters to ‘just make your mark’, drew significant sarcasm and criticism from online users.

In response to the backlash, the party attempted to defend the tutorial by claiming that political opponents were attempting to mislead voters regarding the necessity of signing ballot papers. The AfD, which is classified by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a suspected right-wing extremist group, remains a significant force in German politics, holding seats in all 16 state parliaments and the Bundestag.
