AfD's 100‑Day Plan Targets Migration, Schools in Sachsen‑Anhalt

AfD candidate Ulrich Siegmund unveiled a ten‑point “100‑Day Programme” for Sachsen‑Anhalt ahead of the state election on 6 September 2026. The party, which leads polls with around 40 % support, says it would, if it forms a government, immediately cancel the state broadcasting contract, expand detention centres and impose a compulsory work scheme for asylum seekers. It proposes special school classes for children of migrants, the deployment of security staff to “problem schools”, and a ban on the display of LGBT+ rainbow flags in schools, replacing them with the German national flag. Additional measures include a new #deutschdenken campaign, cuts to ministries and party‑linked foundations, subsidies for driver’s licences, and the establishment of a parliamentary inquiry into the COVID‑19 response. Critics warn that the migration and education proposals clash with the German constitution’s equality clause and could isolate children, while the party’s hard‑line stance is said to be discouraging academics and businesses from the region. If successful, the AfD would become the first far‑right party to govern a German state since 1945.
