Affirm Holdings beats Q4 estimates as GMV rises 36%

Affirm Holdings reported fiscal fourth-quarter results that exceeded analyst expectations, leading to a 9% surge in after-hours trading. The fintech company posted revenue of $1.17 billion, surpassing the $1.11 billion consensus, and net income of $4.62 per diluted share, significantly higher than the $0.85 anticipated by analysts.

Key growth metrics included a 36% year-over-year increase in gross merchandise volume (GMV) to $14.1 billion. While transactions rose 41% to 53 million, the average order value declined by 4%, signaling a shift toward smaller, more frequent purchases. Active consumers grew 21% to 27.8 million, and Affirm Card users more than doubled to 5.2 million.

CEO Max Levchin noted the value of providing consumers with flexible financing for considered purchases. Looking ahead, Affirm expects fiscal Q1 2027 revenue to fall between $1.19 billion and $1.22 billion, which is above market estimates.
