Afghanistan cricket schedule includes India T20Is and UAE multi-format series

Afghanistan is set to play a three-match T20I series against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, starting September 13. While Afghanistan is the host, the matches will be held in India, continuing a long-standing cooperation between the two cricket boards. Regarding player availability for the Indian squad, Washington Sundar has been cleared for selection following a hamstring injury, while the status of Jasprit Bumrah remains subject to further fitness tests.

Following the series in India, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced an extensive multi-format international schedule to be held in the United Arab Emirates during October and November 2026. This program includes a one-off Test against Bangladesh, an ODI tri-nation series featuring Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe, a three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, and a two-match Test series against Zimbabwe.

Separately, a promotional video released by the ACB for the India series has sparked controversy regarding its depiction of maps. Reports indicate that the video's representation of Indian borders, specifically concerning the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh regions, has drawn backlash from various parties.
