Afghanistan currency and gold markets report significant fluctuations
Currency and gold markets in Afghanistan have shown significant activity. In the Kabul and Herat markets, the Afghan Afghani has demonstrated growth, increasing by 7.59% over the past week and over 47.85% over the last six months.
As of late September 1405 (Solar Hijri), the exchange rate for the US Dollar was approximately 64.36 to 64.38 Afghani. The Euro was trading between 76.20 and 76.30 Afghani. Additionally, the Afghani to Iranian Toman rate was reported at approximately 3,615 Tomans per Afghani.
Gold prices in Afghanistan have also fluctuated due to global market instability. The global price of gold reached approximately $4,414 per ounce. In Kabul, 18-karat gold was priced at a purchase rate of 7,370 Afghani and a sale rate of 7,470 Afghani. In Herat, 18-karat gold was priced at 6,680 Afghani for purchase and 6,720 Afghani for sale.
