Afipsky oil refinery hit by alleged Ukrainian drone attack

The Afipsky oil refinery, one of the largest in Russia's Krasnodar region, reportedly caught fire following an alleged drone attack during the night of November 6. Monitoring channels reported explosions and fires at the facility, which is a significant oil processing site in southern Russia.

Additional explosions and fires were reported in the neighboring Republic of Adygea. These incidents follow a series of strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, including a reported drone attack on an Ozon logistics center in Adygea and a strike on a refinery in Ryazan earlier in the week.

The Afipsky refinery was added to the European Union sanctions list in April due to its role in supporting Russian military operations. Ukraine has frequently targeted Russian oil infrastructure to reduce the economic and logistical resources available for its military efforts.
