AFL fan identified after nachos thrown at young family at MCG

A young Brisbane Lions fan and his mother were targeted by a spectator who threw nachos, guacamole, and salsa at them following the AFL preliminary final at the MCG. The incident occurred after Brisbane’s 131-122 victory over Hawthorn. The mother reported that a man appeared angry before hurling the food, leaving the pair covered in toppings. While the child was frightened by the encounter, no physical injuries were reported from the food being thrown.

The AFL has reportedly identified the individual responsible for the incident. This event took place amidst broader crowd unrest at the stadium, where objects were also thrown toward umpires following contentious officiating decisions in the final stages of the match. Victoria Police have confirmed they are investigating the matter.
