AFL Gather Round returns to South Australia in 2027

The AFL Gather Round is scheduled to return to South Australia from April 8 to April 11, 2027. The event, which coincides with the April school holidays, will feature a new players’ parade to celebrate AFL stars.

Recent data indicates the event provided a record $115 million boost to the South Australian economy this year, bringing its total economic contribution to over $400 million since its 2023 launch. The most recent iteration attracted 270,018 spectators across nine matches held at Adelaide Oval, Norwood Oval, and Barossa Park.

Approximately 37 per cent of attendees traveled from interstate, contributing to over 233,000 visitor nights in local accommodation. The State Government has secured an extension to keep the event in South Australia until at least 2029.
