AFL investigates Geelong Cats over concussion liability waiver

Geelong Cats coach Chris Scott has stated that Jake Kolodjashnij is not expected to play at any level this weekend amid an ongoing AFL investigation. The AFL has issued the club a ‘please explain’ regarding a waiver included in Kolodjashnij’s contract. The 31-year-old had signed a document intended to indemnify the club and its medical staff from future concussion-related liability, though the waiver has since been removed.

Regarding team selection for the upcoming match against Richmond, Scott indicated that goalkicker Jeremy Cameron is likely to return from a shoulder injury. However, midfielder James Worpel is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks due to a hamstring injury, while Sam De Koning is set for selection following a knee bursa issue.
