Afonso Luiz Schreiber, founder of Taschibra, dies at 68

Afonso Luiz Schreiber, the founder of Taschibra, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at the age of 68 in Blumenau, Santa Catarina.

Schreiber founded Taschibra in 1995 in Indaial. Under his leadership, the company grew into one of the largest lighting product manufacturers in Latin America, evolving from an import-focused business into a major producer that exports to various countries.

His son, who shares the same name and serves as the company's commercial director, and other family members have expressed their grief over the loss of the patriarch. Funeral services were scheduled for Monday afternoon at the São José Cemetery in Blumenau.
