AFP Integra seeks to become an insurance and pension company
AFP Integra, a subsidiary of the Colombian Grupo SURA, has formally requested authorization from the Superintendencia de Banca, Seguros y AFP (SBS) to transform into an insurance and pension company. This move aims to expand the firm's service offerings to include private annuities, moving beyond its traditional role as a pension fund administrator.
The application follows the implementation of Law No. 32123, the Law for the Modernization of the Peruvian Pension System, which allows for broader business operations within the sector. CEO Aldo Ferrini stated that the company intends to be the first in Peru to offer both accumulation and decumulation solutions, providing products for both fund building and retirement income.
AFP Integra clarified that the current request does not alter its existing operations. Individual capitalization accounts, pension fund management, and member services will continue without interruption while the SBS evaluates the proposal.
