Afpa reports data breach potentially affecting 1.7 million people
The French National Agency for Adult Training (Afpa) has reported a data breach that could potentially affect up to 1.7 million individuals. Two hackers have claimed responsibility for the theft.
According to Afpa Deputy Director Pierre Prady, the extraction of data appears to be linked to a vulnerability in a third-party tool used for managing hosting services. This tool is external to Afpa’s primary information systems, meaning there has been no immediate impact on the agency's internal services.
The compromised information is believed to consist of personal details, including names, addresses, and possibly telephone numbers. However, officials stated that sensitive data, such as social security numbers or banking information, was not available on the affected application.
